New Gold Silver Project in El Salvador

AUGUST 28, 2003

Intrepid Minerals Corporation’s wholly owned subsidiary Triada S.A. de C.V. has been granted the Cerro Petancol Exploration License in central El Salvador. Cerro Petancol is a promising gold-silver prospect covering 49.5 km2 of mid-Tertiary aged volcanic rocks having extensive areas of hydrothermal alteration.

The License area was explored between 1994 and 1998 by Mirage Resources Corporation and its subsidiary, Recursos Salvadorenos S.A. The project was later returned to the Salvadoran government as Mirage and its successor Kinross focused on other assets in El Salvador.

"Extensive areas of very strong gold-silver potential remain to be evaluated on the Cerro Petancol license" reports Laurence Curtis, Intrepid president. "The untested Cerro Gigante zone is a particularly attractive launching point for a new Salvadoran exploration project by the company."

Casposo Gold-Silver Results

JANUARY 17, 2003,

Positive results continue to derive from Intrepid Minerals Corporation’s (IMC) Casposo project in San Juan Province, Argentina, where, subject to completing US$ 600,000 work before July 1st, 2004 and paying certain royalty payments until the property achieves commercial production, the company has the right to earn a 100% interest in the project.

The project was formerly held by Battle Mountain Gold Mining Company and, subsequently, by Newmont Mining Corporation and encompasses an epithermal vein system with a three-kilometre strike length within a 20km belt of hydrothermal alteration.

8600 metres of diamond drilling indicate a contained resource of 492,000 ounces of gold and 6,700,000 ounces of silver.

Bottle roll tests carried out at the Instituto de Investigaciones Mineras in San Juan (Faculty of Engineering, University of San Juan) using 250 gram charges derived from 20 kilogram crushed samples indicate gold recoveries ranging from 85-94% for minus 80 mesh sub-samples and 91-96% recovery of gold for minus 150 mesh sub-samples. For silver, recoveries ranged from 70-94% for minus 80 mesh sub-samples and 82-99% for minus 150 mesh sub-samples.

The data being collected at Casposo suggest Kamila can be fast-tracked to feasibility. The next phase will be a 1500 metres diamond drill verification program, which is scheduled to commence in the next two weeks.

In El Salvador Intrepid continues its drilling campaign on the Cerro Colorado silver-zinc project in conjunction with Apex Silver Mines Limited
