QA has been closely involved in some of the most significant construction projects of recent years, including the Channel Tunnel, the Jubilee Line extension and the Heathrow Express, the Limehouse Link, the New British Library, Barking Reach Power Station, Jersey Storm Water Relief and the Millennium Dome, CTRL AND T5 (Heathrow).. In Europe QA recorded Switzerland's Alptransit, Vereina and Adler railway tunnels and the Amsteg Hydro Project. In Southern Africa QA cameras captured key moments of The Lesotho Highlands Water Project, the Innada Wiggins Tunnels and the Rural Areas Water and Sanitation Project in Southern Africa. From South East Asia, QA brought us pictures of the Route Three Tunnels, the Island West Cavern, the Tuen Mun Light Rail, Black Point Power Station, Vietnam's Yali Hydro, the Woodlands Mass Rapid Transit Metro in Singapore and Hong Kong's Chek Lap Kok Airport and the associated tunnel, bridge and rail infrastructure. Elsewhere QA Photos has been contracted to cover gold, copper and cement mines in Indonesia, the Philippines and Equador, sea defences, canals, and industrial plants. QA Photos are world leaders in the highly specialised field of construction and transportation photography with particular emphasis on tunnelling and other underground environments. Images from their huge portfolio of stunning pictures, often shot in seemingly impossible situations, are regularly seen in publications and other media around the world. At the core of QA's success is director, Jim Byrne, who has a particular interest in low-light photography. Jim has developed a close understanding of on-site requirements and acquired the necessary safety certificates to ensure that, on assignment QA does not impede work-flow. QUALITY ASSURED! THE LIBRARY The library contains some 450,000 images. These exciting and unique images are from many of the worlds greatest tunnelling and construction projects. At the heart of the collection is the complete Channel Tunnel archive. In addition the library also holds many thousands of exciting and atmospheric pictures including: underground structures, bridges, dams, roads, power stations, rail track and rolling stock and the Millennium Dome. |

QA are keen to point out that their service is far more than shooting pictures. They process, print, scan, caption reference, archive, digitally enhance images, mount, frame, make huge blow-ups and transmit pictures instantly world-wide. Their service does not stop there. Co-director, Diana Craigie, talks to printers, newspapers and picture researchers in their own language. Of particular importance to those clients who do not have the in-house expertise, seeks new outlets for their pictures. THE LABORATORY The QA Photos lab utilises the latest digital technology following massive investment. Our exceptional team can deliver high-end Scitex scanning; digital manipulation; web site design and CD archiving. Delivery can be via high speed ISDN and WAM!NET / print out-put through our digital photographic printer or large format UV-stable inkjet printer. We also have the traditional hand printing services and can produce duplicates from 35mm slide to 10x8 transparency. All services are based on our company philosophy which is qualily assured!
