Although, traditionally, rotary valves are installed in pneumatic conveying systems carrying filler fines from bag filter to storage silo, their mode of operation means they can easily lose efficiency within a matter of weeks
The attrition of the fines on the casing, combined with the wiping action of rotary valves, quickly increases the clearance between rotor and casing. This creates paths for the conveying air to bypass the rotor and compromises performance, Before long, the entire valve fails and has to be replaced. The incremental; reduction in the volume of conveyed material reduces plant throughput and increases maintenance and component costs.
In many pneumatic conveying applications, be it asphalt coating, cement making, mineral prcessing or ore smeltering, EGV’s Double Flap Valves have virtually eliminated this expensive cycle of maintenance, replacement and repair.
Because sealing is achieved through the mating of two flat, ground surfaces there is no rubbing or wiping and minimal wear. If a component needs replacing, access covers facilitate easy access without the valve being disconnected or removed from the process line.
EGV’s Double Flap Valves can be tailored to suit specific thermal, abrasion and pressure requirements, including the requirements of gasification, pyrolysis, energy from waste, etc.
Double Flap Valves have successfully overcome the problems of premature wear and reduced performance and, in most cases, have extended valve operating life from an average of two months to, in excess of, two years and still counting.
